Cristina Vărzaru (born 5 December 1979 in Corabia[1]) is a Romanian handballer playing for Viborg HK[2] and the Romanian national team. She participated at the 2000 Summer Olympics where Romania finished 7th.[3] She received a silver medal a the 2005 World Championship.
Vărzaru won the Champions League with Viborg in 2006, 2009 and 2010 .[4]
Both parents are teachers. She has a twin sister, Anca, who graduated the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies. Her other sister, Gabriela, is a Mathematics teacher in Râmnicu Vâlcea same as the father of the girls. Her mother is teacher of French.[5]
